Our Company

Vanessa Gaudet has had a passion for art starting from a young age. She’s tried her hand at pottery, drawing, painting, sculpting and music but at the age of 22 Vanessa found her artistic niche within the medium of glass. This gave her the creative outlet she was looking for. Under the excellent leadership of Christopher Windsor, Vanessa gained the knowledge needed to start her own company. Lady Dragon Glassworks is currently a team of six glassblowers, Katrina Cheung, Patricia Leeson, Sara deWaal, Fiona Morelli, Des Bruchette and myself Vanessa. These talented artists are the backbone of this company, I can't thank them enough for their endless support and encouragement, long hours at the torch or festivals and of course amazing glassblowing skills.

In the past, glass was seen as a luxury and very expensive to obtain. One important goal of LDG is to create an affordable and high quality product that many people can enjoy.

Vanessa wanted to be in a profession where she could learn continuously and expand her own talents within the realm of a glass making craft. As LDG grows, old techniques are constantly being improved and from that new products are created. It is this indefinite growth that will continue for the remainder of her career.

One important goal Vanessa has with LDG is to be as involved in the community as much as possible. She has donated pieces of work for benefits such as the Canadian Cancer Society and the Vancouver Island Compassion Society. It is also important for Vanessa and her co-workers to be at markets, festivals and craft fairs in order to keep personal relationships between her and her clientele.
